Carmine Appice Is A "Rockaholic" Enabler
Friday, Feb 22, 2013 10:22 am
The famed drummer is putting out the call for anyone addicted to rock to join him in the Catskills this summer for four days of rip-roaring riffs, thundering bass lines and bone-shaking drumming in a little something he likes to call "Carmine Appice's Rockhalolics Metal Fan Camp."

Taking place at what has become kind of a home for music summer camps - Full Moon Resort in Big Indian, N.Y. - you get Appice along with "camp counselors" Eric Bloom of Blue Oyster Cult, Scorpions drummer James Kottak, guitarist Eddie Ojeda from Twisted Sister and shredder supremo Michale Angelo Batio.

You also get a lot of rock 'n' roll history with Appice.  An original member of Vanilla Fudge, Appice also founded Cactus, a band which would have had Rod Stewart as its frontman if Faces hadn't beckoned the rooster-coiffed singer.  In 1972 Appice joined with Jeff Beck and Vanilla Fudge bassist Tim Bogert to form the supergroup Beck, Bogart & Appice.

With a camp like this you can expect a lot of authentic road warrior stories from the people that lived them along with musical performances and nightly jam sessions as you hang with the rock gods.

And don't forget about the "Carmine Cookoff." Even more at PollStar.com
